Hey guys there’s a weather radar system made for the hds’s. I believe its made by sirius. Just wondering how it works???? What all will it do and show you? can you buy this system at cabelas or bass pro? Also you can add this on later on like the structure scan? Can you network two units together so you have the radar on both the console and bow or do you have to buy two seperate systems?

I added this to my 8 a few weeks ago.
The $250. for the antenna is a little steep IMO. They had a special going on for $99. and the In-land waters runs $12.99.
It show rain and storms and has an alarm that will go off if lightening or a storm is in an adjustable range from 0 to 57 miles away.
If you have radar storm tracking on your cell phone, I can’t see a need for it. Otherwise between the Sirus and the marine weather radio alarm, I feel pretty confident about the decisions made whether we call a fishing trip or head back in.
I think the first question to ask is how often I fish. It’s a very useful tool for the hard core fisherman.
Weather changes pretty fast on the river and we can’t always see the storms coming.

The only place I’ve found them was through LEI Extras (they had the special), but I’ve never look anyplace else.
Once you have the antenna mounted, you’ll need to make a call to Sirus to activate your service.
Maybe Mr. Dorn will chime in with some added info.
I know you can get them online at cabelas. I guessing they would have them in the store also. I would also think bass pro would have them too. I would go online and get the stores phone number where you plan on buying itand give them a call before you go. See if they have any stock. I did this for my hds 10 in owatonna, it was the last one they had and I had them put my name on it.
I’ve never used jolly ann marine but they do get recommended by a lot of people on this site and some of the other muskie websites I visit.
