My new Elite 5M Chartplotter only takes a micro SD card… I have three std 2008 Lakemaster cards and a ton of waypoints in my old 332C to transfer.
I doubt I can transfer the LKMster chips but can I transfer my waypoints from my 332C to a SD card to a micro that can be downloaded to my new Elite 5M?

I am going to have to go through this process too Tom. I have been avoiding it though. I’ll look into it and get back here so everyone can learn. I think I heard that electronic stores have a card the size of an SD card but the micro card fits into it and then goes into the full sized slot. The information is transfered to the micro card from your old unit then use the micro card in the new unit. I will do some checking and get back here.

I don’t know about Lowrance but I am pretty sure that the waypoints are on my Humminbird and not on the sd card.

On a side note when I got my 2010 Navionics it came on a microSD card with a adapter so that I can use it in either a SD or a microSD machine. If you did not get an adapter you should be able to find one pretty easy.

I almost forgot there is a cable that allows you to hook your fish finder to your computer. I first heard about this with Lowrance and later found that Humminbird could do the same… You have to download a program from the Lowrance web site to allow you access.

I would think it’s a simple copy and paste, do you have a sd card reader? If you want I’ll borrow you an sd/micro sd adapter but yeah you can find them and buy them too, I got one with the last micro sd card I bought.

Here is the link to the software I was refering to. As for the cable, I would guess you could get it from any place that sells LEI products.

Moving your waypoints from SD card to micro sd won’t be hard at all. You’ll need an SD card adapter as was mentioned. The good news is they’re super inexpensive. Here’s one for $7 that comes with a 2 GB micro card. The adapter alone, if you find one sold that way, would be much less.

If you plan to update to a new lakemaster chip note that all lakemaster chips for lowrance are sold as a micro sd inside an adapter.

Getting a micro SD card with an adapter is not much more expensive than getting just the micro SD card alone. I buy all my micros with an adapter because I keep misplacing the adapters. I have a half dozen floating around somewhere. They behave much like socks do, and just vanish.
