using a red net we were told by Lowrance techs that it should work, but we tried two updated 17s and neither would read the GPS. We were in a metal barn, but i don’t think that should be a problem. Both read the sonars correctly on test…

    Any comments??

I would try it outside once and see what happens. I don’t have much luck acquiring enough signal for a position when inside a building.

I am sure that these 2 units are not compatable. Meaning usually the x17 ran off 2000 puck or 3000 puck. The 4000 puck was designed for the HD units.

The 4000 puck will work with any NMEA 2000 compliant device
and the LCX17m is on that list.

I just found out that if you have a blue network device
and wish to run a 3000 or 4000 puck there is an additional
update (1.8 for the LCX-17m) that is not available on the
    website.

    3rd time is a charm!!

I can forward the e-mail if anyone needs it.

Just added a 4000 puck to my 332c and had to update to the latest Vr. of software.
