Lowrance problems

I have a 1.5 yr old LCX-37C unit that I am having some issues with. My depth reading are terrible. It will read depth for a minute or 2 and then it will fill with colors and flash 1.5ft deep. It does this at all depths and all speeds, even when sitting still. Then it will work again for a couple seconds. I am assuming it is a bad transducer. Does that sound correct to you?

Yep, it is the transducer. They have made improvements this past year to fix this on going problem.

Yes- Transducer. I had the same problem with a unit that was less than a year old.

OK..after a bit of a wait I got David on the Lowrance tech line.
He says these two transducers should be the newer model units.
Either will work on a LCX27C, not sure for other models though.

    Model: HST-WSBL
    PART NUMBER 106-72
    and

    Model HST-DFSBL
    Part number 106-77

There are as accurate as I could be, but please check with Lowrance before you buy them or maybe some one on the forum would/could verify these transducers are correct.

Did he happen to know for sure if these are the newer models?
Which one did you get if I may ask?

Wade figured that this should be of new stock. Sounds like they have been hard to keep in stock for some places.

I just started having the same issue with my 2.5 yr old X510C. Sounds like I need to go and invest in a a new ducer to hopefully fix the problem. It’s always fun when your out fishing and your equipment takes a poop on you.

Installed the new transducer this morning, and all is good again. I think it had been acting up for quite some time, because it is reading great now.
