Lowrance HDS 7 – Loose Face Plate

The light grey face plate on my HDS 7 has become loose. I can slide it side to side freely and I can lift up on it if I hook it with my finer nail. Is this supposed to be glued on or do the screws in the back hold it on? Has anyone else ran into this yet? What do you guys think?

    Thanks,
    Mike

I have an Eagle and Lowrance and the frames around the screen are loose on both. Have popped them out to fully clean the screen.

    Wireline.

Mag, I don’t have my directions here, but I know there was some instructions on how to remove the face plate on the HDS units.

I just glanced at it and it appeared to snap on. Check your manual.

Thanks BK! I just happen to notice that my HDS 7 face plate moves and my HDS 5 face plate seemed like it was secured in place.

Brian hit it on the head. The faceplate on the HDS snaps into place. The top slides down into the slots first then the bottom corners snap into place with quit a bit of pressure. In fact once you get it into place it takes a screwdriver to pry up the bottom corners to take it off.
