Lowrance software update problem

I downloaded the following to my SD card for a LCX-15ci update from the Lowrance website download:
KS41100_1.ldr
lcx15ci30t.bin
Update.lop

I inserted it into the unit’s card slot, shut and locked with the power offer. I then turned it on and nothing. It doesn’t read this card, nor a 2006 Navionics Hotmaps Premium. Are these the correct files on the SD – or is it a dead card reader?

I loaded the update on a small gig SD card (312 I think). I read that it should load automatically – it doesn’t). When I look at “map data”, it just shows “Navionics” and lists “Lowrance” underneath – but there are no maps listed or available. Also, I look on the browse MMC files and it shows that none are available. The unit’s from a used boat I bought, so I don’t know the history. I did a soft reset and it didn’t make a difference.

I’ve never had success loading an update when taking it from the lowrance website and putting it directly on a memory card. Download it to your computer, and then extract the update to your memory card.

The update should load automatically onto the unit when it is powered up. You won’t find any information in the map data part of the menu. That is to force the unit to read a specific map card you have placed into the unit.

If the unit is not recognizing the update and you have checked on your PC that the update is on the SD card then you more than likely have a bad card reader in the unit. This would be a customer service call.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried the updates on a 312mb SD card – should it be done on an MMC card? Are the three files correct?

If the card was blank when you started and when you check the card for it’s contents then those are the files that were downloaded from Lowrance’s website and would be correct.
