I am purchasing a Lowrance LMS 520c from a member and I will need to get a puck for it. What is the difference between the 2000 & 3000? Can I use either one? Thanks!

You will need the 3000. The plug is different. If you get a 2000, you will need an adapter.

You will not beable to get a 3000 anymore, they replaced it with the 4000 and you will have to update software to the latest ver. PM me and I will tell you how to get a 4000 with the cable for $112 from Lowrance.

If that doesn’t work out for you, there are some used ones for sale if you look around on-line.

    lgc-3000

    option 2

And there is one on e-bay for another hour and a half.
That was just with 5 minutes of looking. They are out there.

If you wanted to go the 2000 route, I’ve got a new one you can have,
    but
like Jon said it would need the adapter.
Jack, PM me if you need it.

Got to many PM’s. So here is my tip. Lowrance has a upgrade program. You call Lowrance tech Support and tell thim your puck is shot and they will send you a new 4000 with cable for $112 shiped. They do take the serial Number so you can not do it more then once, but you can give them any 9 didgit number starting with 1008.

Gotta chime in and say thanks for this post. My 2000 puck just dropped dead, and after calling around I ended buying one from Cabela’s, with adapter cable for $300. Once I get my puck from Lowrance, back to Cabela’s it goes!

Anyway, if anyone is interested, the guy at Cabela’s said they can still order a 2000 or 3000 puck. Also, Lowrance will send a 3000. I had to ask about 4000. Not sure why anyone would want anything else, the 4000 works much, much better.

I can’t find a phone # for lowrance tech support. Can anyone help me. My LGC 2000 quit and I need another one but they don’t make it anymore.
