Lowrance map card loading problem

Bought a boat with an X-15ci. I loaded a Navionics 2006 LOTW chip into the slot but it does not load the map. I went into the menu and it shows “Lowrance” in the GPS selection menu – the Navionics map doesn’t show.

Couple things..

1. little lock button on the side of the chip..was it locked?

2. X-15ci is an older unit that may need some upgrades to use a navionics chip, or just run the unit more efficiently(sp). Check lowrance web site for updates.

I is always good to make sure your Lowrance unit is updated with the latest software available. As for the 2006 Navionics card, your X-15ci does not have the capability to read that card. You will need to find an older Navionics classic, Hot Maps classic or Freedom Map card for that unit.

Thanks for the replies. I’m on version 2.7.0 and need to update to 3.1.0. Looked at Navionics website and they don’t list the x15ci, so I assume it’s out-of-date for them. I suppose I could find an older version of the Lakemaster LOTW chip to use until I upgrade the unit?

Thanks for the replies. The unit won’t recognize any SD card I insert. I’ve put in an update card, 2006 Navionics and a 2008 Lakemaster Chip and none show up in the map data or the mms menus.

Has the card reader quit working?

Fisherman, since you’re trying to put a new version of cards into your older 15, I would suggest talking with LakeMaster to see if they could find an older version of their mapping chips that would work.

I would doubt that anyone could tell if your reader is shot or not with the info supplied.
