My Gps tracking on my bow mount unit quit working any sugestions? I checked the obvious things first, wire connection seem ok, data cables were tight.

    Go into the “trails” menu.
    Find the maximum points setting.
Reset to zero or create a new trail.

Make sure to “display” and “record” when setting up a new trail.

Did the GPS receiver find satellites and show your position? If so, it’s nothing
to do with cables or connections. Or was it only the trails that isn’t working?
Periodically I start a new trail and delete the old ones. Then everything works by default – nothing else to set.

If your GPS cannot find satellites, it may be time for a new receiver (puck). If that’s the case, a call to Lowrance would be beneficial as they were offering replacements at a discount. I chose to update to the LCG-4000 which locks in faster (even indoors!), isn’t susceptible to the ESD problems of the 3000, and eliminated the “wandering” of the cursor I had with the 3000.

Puck needs to be powered if I remember right.
    Might check that.

Also you don’t list where you live other than MN, but if your near S Mpls you can use my hook ups to check your unit, I have two 27C’s on my boat.

With the unit on, hit pages and arrow over to the left to status and hit enter. In the circle you will see the satelites you are recieving a signal from and the bars below will be the strength of each signal. The bars should look like a picket fence with a signal received from at least 4 or more satelites. If you get a “module not responding” message then you will need to check your power to the NMEA backbone. If that is OK then your puck may be bad. If you can borrow a puck and try it on your boat or take your unit to another boat with Lowrance that works fine and plug your unit in and see what works and what doesn’t, process of elimination.
