    Here’s one for you Ken!!

I don’t have a radio installed on my boat but get great
sound through a Bose speaker hooked into the LWX-1 module
    via the 3.5mm jack.

    Here’s my problem(s).

The audio stays on when I deselect Sirius audio.
The audio stays on when I power down my HDS10.
The audio stays on when I power down my LSS-1, which
connects the LWX-1 to the HDS10 via ethernet.
The audio will power off when I switch the LWX-1 off.

    Is this your experience?

I did call on it and stumped the first guy I spoke to.
    I’m supposed to get a return call………………….

    Thanks,

    Dan

I’m installing the Sirius antenna tonight.

I catch way to many fish to be listening to the radio… but I’m looking forward to the storm/rain/wind/lightening info in my out of cell phone areas.

Have you tried this out yet Dan?

Haven’t subscribed to the weather package…………yet.

Install tip……..manual doesn’t show a switch or suggest
one. I called on it and was told it only powered up
when an attached HDS unit was powered.
Got the green power light when I hooked into the panel and
the HDS wasn’t even in the boat.

    Use a switch!!

Installed mine last week. Use a switch when installing or you will end up with a dead battery. The sirius radio is great, but the weather part is awesome. I set mine to give a warning when storms are 30 miles out. Was fishing the river on tuesday and the alarm went off, so I headed back to the ramp. Just got the boat on the trailer when the rain and lightning started. So far I love the unit.

I put the sirius weather in my boat past year and liked it alot! I never had a problem with it staying on and I never used a switch. One thing I noticed is that for some reason I dont get the wind. The guy at my dealership asked me one day if I got the wind up around Grand Rapids and I said no!! I guess he found out it worked out towards ND and then once he got over close to Duluth. We’ll see if it works this year. Either way I can see the rain and have clear radio to listen

I don’t have the audio package so no experience there. Although it makes sense that when you power down the Sirius antenna the audio goes off but when you de-select the Sirius audio has me baffled. I’ll see if I can get an answer.

In a later post about about seeing the wind direction arrows zoom in and out and if there is wind the arrows show up at the proper zoom level.

I live out here in California so I don’t get the subscription year round, just during the winter months since its almost always sunny and nice out here, sorry you guys with all the tornados, severe thunder storms and stuff.

I fished the FLW Stren Championship at Table Rock Lake in Missouri a couple years ago in November. We got woke up about 2 AM with a loud siren and had no idea what was going on until a local next door explained that there was a severe thunderstorm going by. We went out on the deck and watched the lightning show for about an hour and went then went back to bed. This was a new experience for this California boy and I knew right then that the Sirius weather would be invaluable for you guys back there.

$22 a month for the weather and audio. Even if you shut off the sirius radio in the hds menu, the black box still stays on. Thats why I wired it into a switch.

Or $13. for the weather without the tunes.

Speaking of tunes…when running the old X-19 I couldn’t listen to AM radio. I could hear the sonar pulses.

The HSD crystal clear am. Now I might become a Twins fan…or not.

Are you getting that price because you have another Sirius
    subscription?

The best quote I received was around 30.00/mo. for both.

    Thanks.

    Sirius Prices

I was a little taken back on Sunday when I ordered the Marine Weather Service.

The customer service agent set up my account and then told me I have a three month free trial. He didn’t even take my credit card number.

Now I can access my account on line for any changes I want to make.

From my understanding they are offering all new marine subscribers 3 months free.

The bad thing is we all know what they say about deals that are too good to be true.

Eeeahhh. As I was looking for the number Dan, I’m thinking Tim the CS guy signed me up for the 2 year plan. This comes with three free months.

I asked him repeatedly (because he sounded new to the marine setups) if this was the $13. plan for In-land Marine weather and what were the conditions of the three free months.

    There weren’t any.

Well, they don’t have my CC number so that’s a plus for me…I guess.

I just called sirius and got the audio and weather, they said there is a price break if you get both. Have never had the service before. There was a $25 start up fee, but I will be paying each month. It was cheaper in the long run, because I will not be using it in the winter.
