I have an lcx17 graph/gps combo. Last night I was out trolling and wanted to get a dimmer screen. When I put the brightness to the lowest setting, the screen flasher for about 10 seconds and then back to bright. Any ideas?
Are you using the power button to control it’s brightness?
I’ve tried the power button and I’ve also tried the brightness settings in the menu. Same results. Works fine on everyother brightness setting.

Did you perhaps turn it off and restart it with the same results? I use the night viewing function and it works great, but still need to dim it at times.
If restarting it doesn’t help, I’m out of ideas. Sorry.
Since neither method changed the setting, the backlight itself is not receiving the command. You would have to send the unit to Lowrance. The LCX 17 is an older unit so parts may be a little scarse. Customer service would be able to tell you if it can be fixed and how much that would be. The Lowrance customer service number is 1-800-324-1356
