I know that there has been some conversation on this topic before, but what have people learned.
My Hunt C will not power up at all any more with a cig lighter adapter. I have purchased new ones for troubleshooting, with the same result.
If I use batteries, they are consumed in less than an hour.
That is with the unit on or off!
Seriously, I put new batteries in the unit and then turn it off. The batteries will be dead in one hour?
The website “self help” does not have any information.
I have submitted an email request for support.
    Thanks for any input.
    Good luck.
    cheers

Its nice to have that cord but, You will not find one that will last. I’ve owned 4 h2o’s and been through 8 cords. Lowrance finally said I was going to have to be charged for additional cords. I asked why,….because I’ve been through 4 h2o’s. The current h2o was still under 6 months old.

You can play with Lowrance for a total of 8 cords

The best thing to do is go out and get energizer rechargables. You really only need 4. The last much longer and end up saving you time and money.

    Hey Matt,
I agree with everything that you said.
I do beleive that my current problem is in the handheld its self.
The unit will not power on with a cig adapter cord at all.
I have purchased 2 new cig adapter cords and tried a couple of other peoples, that work fine for their handhelds, without any luck.
As I mentioned, this thing eats batteries way worse that normal.
It does not matter if the unit is turned on or off, 2 new AA batteries will be dead in less than 1 hour.
You can literaly go to the battery indicator and watch the power level drop!
There has to be a serious problem inside the unit.
I did load new batteries, and perform both a soft and hard reset.
Still ate the next pair of batteries in about 55 minutes…
    Good luck
    cheers

    Are you F%@&ING kidding me?
Following is part of the email response that I received from Lowrance customer service:

“Based on your information, we do recommend sending your unit in for service.
If the unit is still under the 1 year warranty, please inform us and be prepared to include a copy of the bill of sale to verify warranty when shipping the product to the factory for service.
There is a flat rate repair fee of $149.95 for the repair of your iFinder Hunt C. The repair cost includes all parts, labor and a 6 month repair warranty. There is an additional charge of $12.50 for shipping and handling.”

Is this a scam or just a racket?

Not quite sure what to do now…

    Good luck
    cheers
