520C or transducer

    I have a 520C on the front of the boat and a Minnkota pro 80 trolling motor with built in transducer.
    Problem is when I put the trolling motor down and turn on the 520C, it takes forever for me to get a bottom reading. Even in 10 feet of water it may take 10 minutes to start reading the bottom. Next time out, I lower the trolling motor and it might start reading within seconds. However, taking a long time is getting to be the normal.
    What do you guys think? Is it the universal transducer in the Minnkota or the 520C from Lowrance. Trolling motor is 4 years old and Lowrance is 2 years old.

    If I had to guess I would say the transducer in the trolling motor is going bad.
