Lowrance has had my 113c for two weeks now, still no sign of it… Called last week to check on the status, customer service person could only tell me they have received it. Doesn’t seem to be the “high priority” treatment I paid for… very frustrating.

Who’d you go through?
I know you would not have terrible service like that from Wade at Jolly Ann.
May 6, 2009 at 1:56 pm #774379Jessie, he had to send the unit into lowrance to get fixed…. Wade doesn’t fix’em, he sells them….

Oh….
May 6, 2009 at 2:13 pm #774383Last I heard Lowrance is running about 4 weeks out on repair work. It sucks but it’s just one of those deals.
May 6, 2009 at 4:14 pm #774423Bummer to hear about your wait. I’d bet that half the fishermen in the nation have been getting things rolling over the last month or two and several of them discovered issues with their units and sent them off for repairs. Waiting to get your unit fixed is still a LOT cheaper than buying a new one. Good luck.
May 6, 2009 at 4:36 pm #774429Yep, sent in to repair, I must not be alone, last week when I called to check the status, I couldn’t even get through to get put on hold, kept getting a busy signal…
May 6, 2009 at 6:54 pm #774472Just got off the phone with Lowrance, only took 45 minutes on hold…??? Anyways… I was told it was tested and failed, and will be replaced with a new unit, thats the good news. The bad news is, they are all out of 113’s, in every configuiration. He was considering pulling the head unit out of a “combo” unit if necessary but found nothing on hand. I was told they will be recieving a shipment on 5/11, and I should see one shortly after. Hope so… We’ll see.
May 8, 2009 at 12:05 am #774941Well, I got a call from my email contact at Lowrance, Linda Colt, very helpful. Well, see said they are 4-6 weeks out for new replacements… woah.
Apparently she had 2 techs diagnose my unit, and apparently reloaded the software, and it’s working now… Should get it tomorrow…May 21, 2009 at 11:26 pm #778716The fun continues…
Unit worked fine for about 5 minutes, then at 10 minutes it was lost showing only 1 sat signal. I finally spoke with the Tech Supervisor today, wants me to check voltages at the GPS module, he thinks that’s the problem. He also didn’t care when I mentioned my X-27 works perfect when mounted in the same location. So The GPS module works with one unit but not the other? What???May 21, 2009 at 11:30 pm #778718Yeah…. that doesn’t make a lot of sense. I feel your pain. Electrical issues can drive a guy nutz. Trying to diagnose them over the phone with someone that may or may not know beans about electronics doesn’t make things any easier.
May 22, 2009 at 1:35 pm #272464Thanks, Electrical issues really test a person’s patience… I’m confident that Lowrance will rectify this issue, but I’m loosing confidence in unit.
I tested the voltage per instruction from the Tech Supervisor, 11.97 Volts steady. Perfect.
Fired up the unit in the garage, and as expected, it worked perfect for the first 5 minutes. Locked in and showing sat’s. I smiled, but it wouldn’t last. After 5 minutes she started fading, and at 10 minutes, the status page was blank.
May 22, 2009 at 3:06 pm #251643Stupid question?? How far away is your gps module from the unit. if its too close that can be a problem. it should be at least 3′ away.
just a thoughtMay 22, 2009 at 3:54 pm #442292It’s about 30″ away, The head unit is behind the windscreen, and the puck is out in front of the console mounted on top of the gunnel.
May 22, 2009 at 8:17 pm #30692230″ that could play a part. I was told the newer units need to be at least 3′ away. 30″ is close maybe for a shot in the dark try moving it. It mattered with my 113 but my 19 is 1′ away with no problems.
Worth a tryJune 5, 2009 at 2:08 am #781638Thanks Stick boy, I wouldn’t have believed it, but when I was in Canada a couple of days ago, I mounted the 113 on a friends boat who had the puck mounted on the back corner of his boat, and it worked!
I brought the tools up to remount it, just in case it did work. Mounted it in the back corner of my boat, and it worked great the rest of the trip.
A friend of mine on the trip, who works in the GPS industry, thought that possibly the 113 made more “Noise” and drown out the puck when mounted too close. So why didn’t Lowrance ever tell me that?June 5, 2009 at 3:08 am #781650glad it worked. some times its those little stupid things that will drive you nuts.
