How to edit waypts on 113 then tx to HDS

I would like to get some of the old waypoints off my LCX 113 then transfer to my HDS 10 Gen2. Instead of icons I always hit waypt when fishing thus >400. I only want to transfer around 35 to new unit but unable to figure out how to edit my data.

I was able to transfer my data from the 113 to a SD card. Per Lowrance suggestion I went to a site, GPS visualizer and able to get the data.usr converted to text format but not able to delete any waypoints. I could cut and paste the text to a word doc but then I would have to enter all the waypts manually. In addition the text conversion shows numbers in a sequence that I’m not used to so would have to convert that also ie 44.635933084 -87.803171549

Options I thought of but rather labor intensive. Delete all unwanted waypts from LCX then transfer. Transfer all data from LCX to HDS then delete unwanted waypts.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks,

I am having a similar problem. I have an old globalmap gps unit that has a lot of waypoints saved to it and for some reason it will not save them on a card. I have tried it at least 4-5 times with no luck, and I have done it on numerous different units and never had an issue with it.

I am transferring them to a lcx 112 and decided to enter the important ones manually. I would think if you only were going to do 35 of them it would probably be the easiest for you as well. If i remember right when you hit WPT or ENTER it gives you the option of typing in an alternate location that isn’t a weird sequence that you said you would have to convert to.

One thing you could try is making sure the card isn’t locked. If it isn’t, you could try this if you have Windows 7

    a. Right click on the file and select “Properties” from Context Menu
    b. Click on Edit button in Properties windows Click ok to confirm the prompt.
    c. Select user/group from permission windows or click “add” to add other user or group.
    d. Under Permission, check “Full Control” under the “Allow” column to assign full access rights control permissions.
    e. Click Ok for changes to take effect and click ok to exit from Properties window

Lowrance might lock it up in the administrative side so that you cant make changes to the text file for safety reasons so do this at your own risk. Once you do this you should be able to make any changes to the text file but don’t add anything or make changes other than deleting unwanted waypoints

How about a program like easygps and doing it on the PC? I have had success with it in the past.

I do have Windows 7 but could not get through your process successfully.

I went to the EasyGPS site and downloaded their free software. I was able to get the waypoints transferred to it and edit and delete unwanted waypoints. I then emptied my blank SD card and for the life of me I can’t figure out how to get the edited version onto the SD card. I need to rent a 15yo. I assume that’s what I have to do to get them into the HDS.

    Thanks,

    Michael
