Connecting Elite4 to Minnkota Univeral Sonar 2?

I have a Terrova with Universal Sonar 2 and just purchased a Elite 4 Sonar/Mapping unit. The Elite 4 comes with a single combo Transducer/power cord that uses a 6 pin connector to the Elite4. How do I connect the Elite 4 to the Terrova? Do I not use the combo cable that came in the box and just use the Universal Sonar connector from Minnkota? Will the Minnkota cable have power and the transducer lines in 1 cord?

Previous Lowrance units I’ve owned had separate Power and Transducer cables, not 1 cable that combines both…i’m confused…

Don’t think you can do that with the Elite 4. There is no power from theTerova transducer and no way to remove the transducer on the 4. You need a unit with a separate power cable and transducer.

I have the 67c on mine with the single plug and it works fine. Just get the right connector from minkotta and you’re set

    I really appreciate the responses!

So all I have to do is connect the Minnkota universal sonar cord ( I believe it’s the #9 cord) to the back of the Elite4 or do I plug it into the Lowrance single power/transducer cord and then just shove the transducer and extra cord up under my bow panel?

You should just have to plug that us cord directly to your elite 4. That’s how my 67c cord works

So you have no power cable going from your battery to your 67c? Just the single US2 cable going from the trolling motor to the adapter cable to the back of the lowrance? That sounds too good to be true…i would have thought this was a much bigger issue as these smaller units are ideal for bow mounting and utilizing universal sonar yet i can’t find anything about it on the net.

I finally found a picture of the MKR-US2-9 cable, looks like it’s a Y cable with its own power cables, totally different from other Universal Sonar cables. Looks like you don’t use the Lowrance cords at all.. web page

    Thanks to all who replied!

I just bought a used 2006 Alumacraft Navigator with a 80# Terrova with built in transducer. It also has a Humminbird 383c GPS/Sonar connected to it. But the humminbird unit is a piece of junk. I want to put my Lowrance Elite 5 on the bow and connect it to the transducer on the trolling motor. Minn Kota says to use the MKR-US2-9 adapter cable. But the connector plug in the photo is not the same style that plugs into the back of my Elite 5. My Elite 5 has a black colored push-in connector plug with a twist lock collar. Can someone confirm the MKR-US2-9 is the correct adapter plug? I already called Minn Kota and all they said was to refer to their compatibility chart. Girl on the phone was no help at all.

Call again. If they blow you off, ask to speak to a supervisor. Be polite, but be persistent.

After looking at my transducer plug closer I noticed it is a 6 pin plug but it has a locking collar. The MKR-US2-9 has the right plug but no locking collar. I ordered the adapter plug on amazon today. It was $5 off and was an amazon prime item. 2 day free shipping. Should have it by Thursday. It’s already shipped.
