I just sent this to Lowrance tech help but they are sometimes a little slow to respond and I want to fish next week so thought I would post here for some insight.

    Thanks, Grey Beard

I hooked my recently purchased used HDS-10 Gen 2 to my 113 via Ethernet cable through a LSS-1 box. I forgot to turn on the power to the LSS-1. There was no signal to the 113. Sometime later when remembered and turned the power switch to the LLS on(DUH!!), the HDS changed and we were in 210fow the screen changed abruptly and said I was in 2 feet and showed 5 feet for the full screen. I turned off the LSS power and the HDS and then turned both back on and no change in the HDS screen. There was NO signal to the 113 when the LSS was powered up. I turned off the LSS and the HDS then disconnected the Ethernet cable from HDS to the LSS 1. When I turned the HDS back on the color palate had changed and I think the sensitivity also as the screen looked so very much different as compared to when the day started. Totally frustrated at that point as I was already struggling to learn the HDS software to adjust settings so I gave up and went home.

I do have the HDS box check that says it’s the head unit ie the one to transmit signal.

    Suggestions?

I just tried a soft reset and looks like screen shot is back to normal. I will find out tomorrow on the lake. Afraid to turn the LSS back on and will await reply from Lowrance before doing so.

Solution to the problem was the order of how I turn on the units. First turn on the HDS, then the LSS then the 113 and everything worked. Some call this the electrical handshake.
