I have a hds 10 gen1 that locks up at start up. When I power it up it locks up while loading charts and it reboots several times before it goes. I have tried a soft reset which didn’t seem to help the problem. Any ideas?
Save all your waypoints to 2 different SD cards just encase something happens then try a hard reset. After that make sure you to the latest revision of software and update if need be. After thay do a hard reset again if you made an update. That should bring you to the latest and greatest with all memory functions cleared out.
I had to do that when I ran Gen 1 HDS equipment due to constant issuse and it seemed to help but since then have went to bird.
If you do the hard reset that is suggested, be absolutely sure to save your waypoints, routes and trails to an SD card because the hard reset, holding in the Zin and Zout keys and pressing the power key, WILL erase all Waypoints, Routes and Trails. A soft reset, holding in the Pages key then pressing the power key will reset to factory settings without erasing the Waypoints, Routes and Trails.
