Elite-5 DSI

    I just got a new Elite-5 DSI and put the Lake Insight PRO 2013 chip in it. My question is I can see the contours but the depths that go along with the contours don’t show up. Does anyone have any suggestions. TIA Graff

    There should be Setting that allows you to turn the contour lines on and off. I used to have it on my Gen 2 HDS so I’m not quite sure if it’s the same set up as you have. Go to menu and then chart options. A sub menu will appear. Select imagery and then you should be able to choose what you want. But like I said that’s on my HDS so I’m not sure about the elite series.

    Try zooming in more.
    The more you zoom in (especially on the smaller units) the more depths start to show up.

    I am having the same issue with my Elite 5. I emailed Lowrance a while ago and got this reply.
    “The Elite units are currently reading the mapping detail different from the HDS units. We are looking into this issue.”
    I would guess at some point they will release an update for the Elite 5. I keep hoping it gets fixed soon because the chip is not all that usable without depth markings.

    Does anyone have any expierience with the Navionics chip for these? Would it make more sense to get that one instead of the Lake Insight.
