My 620 use to run all LCX units on it (3 of them)
Being LCX’s, I added a Broad Band sounder.
Since, I updated the 112 & 113 to HDS 10’s, but still run a LCX 38 (which I love that unit) in dash.
I run nothing but sonar on the LCX 38 and use the Broad band sounder as sonar source.

If I ran sonar direct to one of the HDS 10’s and by passed the broad band sounder, would I be able to chose a HDS 10 as a source for the sonar on the 38 and still get broad band sounder sonar quality?

Trying to eliminate some of the power sources I have in current boat set up and this would be one of choice if it can be accomplised.

    Thanks in advance
    Mike

HDS units have the broadband sonar built into them. If you want to keep ethernet connectivity between all units, you might want to keep it (or consider structure-scan… its neat).

I have the structure scan and all 3 unites etherneted together.
What I’m wondering is can I get broad band signal coming out of the HDS 10 unit to the LCX (in broad band) I beleive I can, but don’t want to eliminate the Broad band sounder and lose that on the LCX.

I run SS transducer along with through hull.

Gotcha. If you set the LCX sonar source to the HDS10, I expect the same sonar quality being displayed as from the BBS. I did something similar on a weekend trip with a relatives’s LCX-110 once (without a BBS) and didn’t notice any difference in display images between the HDS and LCX.

    Thanks Roottwo.
I knew I could set sonar source on LCX to HDS source, just didn’t know if it the LCX would still get the BBS which obviously, the HDS has it built in.
A big re wiring project and just wanting to make sure.
