Hi Guys I just installed the structure scan system on my hds -7 . The problem I have is the screen on down scan is cluttered all the way up and down the screen, I can still pick out fish but its just not clear like I beleive it should be . I mounted my structure scan puck on the down side of the origanal puck like it said and within a foot away. Any ideas would be helpfull. I have just fished in shallow water of ten feet and less so far.

That’s tough to diagnose with the less than 10 fow caveat. I’ve never really looked at mine on down scan that shallow. Might just be “stuff” in the water. Is it cluttered in sidescan mode? Or is 2d sonar all cluttered up at the same time?

Side scan looks great and hds screen is great also.

Try freezing the picture and adjusting the contrast and see if this helps. Also being in shallow water like this you might have to turn down the sensitivity alot. Are you fishing in the river? If so you could be picking up more signal from dirty water, since the downscan will focus on a more condensed area on the bottom vs a wide area like the side scan.

try different color pallets and different contrast settings. The clarity and depth of the water drive how much contrast you need to run. I tend to run the blue pallet the most on downscan.
