Lowrance Insight HD Map chip question

    I picked up a 2012 Insight HD Map Chip at the Muskie Expo yesterday. Reeds had a great price on them (79.99). I was hoping to use it on a new Lowrance Elite 5 DSI I got for Christmas. Now looking at the chip, it looks like it is only compatible with the HDS Lowrance units. I have my locator up at the cabin, so I can try it. Does anyone know if it will work in a Elite 5 DSI unit? I’m thinking I may need to head back to the Expo again tomorrow to exchange it. Thanks for any information.

    I believe you will need the micro sd cards for the Elite 5. I don’t think the bigger chip will work in them.

    The Insight HD comes with both the SD and micro. You are right the Elite 5 DSI only takes the micro chip. I have the Lowrance H2O and the LakeMaster WI and MN chips but both of them are only on the SD card, so they won’t work. What a freaking racket these map chips are.
