522C and HDS7

    I just purchased a used 522C and I want to run my chart on the HDS7 and my graph on the 522C. Can I connect them with an ethernet cable or network cable and run it like this or do I have to set up each one separately?

    You can run them separate unless you want to share saved waypoints between the two.

    I don’t have the transducer for 522C will the HDS transducer work or do I need to get one for the 522C?

    Also if the two units are connected via ethernet cable will they each show the same thing(if i have the sonar page on one will it have the sonar page on the other), or can I have the sonar page on one and the chart on the other?

    Yes your HDS tranducer will work with the LMS unit.

    You can view the sonar on the HDS via ethernet or you can
    set it to the chart page.

    Mapping data is not shared between the two.

    Is this in 2d only???? I have an lms 332c just sitting around, What do I need to hook it up to my hds7? Can I use it for depth etc?

    Zach,

    Make sure your 522c is running the 2.5 software version.

    I think this update was needed for ethernet capabilities.

    I did just that and guess what happened…IT WORKED!!! Thanks for all the help and advice I am sure I will be back here with more questions soon. Thanks again!!

    I have a map chip I bought in 2012 works great in the HDS7, but I can’t get it to work in the LMS 522C. I tried changing the navionics data, but the only option is Lowrance. Am I looking in the right place? How do I get it to work or is the chip too new?
