Hey guys,
I am looking at either the elite 7 HDI or the elited 7 broadband. Is the only major difference between these models the down scan imaging? There is $100 price difference so it seems logical. The boradband model claims it is “HDI ready” but no sure what that means. Thanks for any clarifications. 
i just bought the elite 7 with down scan imaging. i like it alot, its alot easier to tell what exactly is on the bottom, if its rocks, fish, bait fish. i would spend the extra 100 to get the better transducer.

Yes that is the only difference, get the HDI its worth the extra coin. Not sure what the HDI thing is though? It cant be added later though.
