Looks like I am pretty much decided on getting a HDS or two… I have a through the hull transducer now that I use with my X125. I do not plan on getting the structure scan unit at this time. Will I be OK using the through the hull transducer and sink two units together (one atc onsole one at the bow)off of the one transducer?

Also, if I am not going to get the structure scan now, doe I really need the HDS model??? Are there any combo deals (HDS5 and HDS7 or 8) if you buy both units together?

    Thanks!

Your transducer will work with the HDS.

You will be able to connect the bow with the console via

ethernet to get the reading from the thru hull on both

    units.

I have seen in the past that Cabela’s offers package deals

on multiple HDS units. Including ethernet cables.

StructureScan only works with the HDS line.

I have a HDS-7 Gen2 with RAM mount for sale in the classifieds, if you’re interested.

If you don’t need the structure scan and all the capabilities
of an HDS, you could save $$ by going with the Elite 7. Or,
one Elite 7 and one HDS. They can be networked.

Thats a good idea. If I think it out a bit, I do not really know if I need to have structure scan and all in the bow – maybe one day at the console. So, will the Elite series allow me to mark way points and see the graph from the bow? I can see needing to mark points while up front and seeing points on the graph as I am trolling around with the trolling motor,

The Elite will store 3000 way points. If your existing

transducer has a blue connector you can use it with Elite or

HDS. If not, you will have to mount a new transducer.
