Might want to ask your question in the Lowrance forum.

Is the ethernet cable, orange ended, connected to the HDS7?

Does your StructureScan module come on when you power up your HDS or does it have its own switch?

    Check your fuses.

Make sure the power light is lite up on the LSS Module. If not check power.

Also make sure the yellow wake up wire on the LSS is hooked, this is what turns on the LSS with out this the sonar will not see the LSS

I would make sure you have power to the structure scan module first. Second I would make sure your ethernet cable is fully attached on both the head unit and the structure scan. Next I would move the ethernet cable to a different port on the structure scan. Then I would see if I could borrow another ethernet cable to test. After exhausting all those, I would reset it to factory as Justin suggested. If you don’t have a ton of customized settings and pages, you could reset before swapping cables.

I had an issue with the bow unit on my last boat not always getting connected to the source. Turned out to be a bad ethernet cable.

Just wondering what did you find out? I’m having the same problem. Did the factory reset help you?

What model HDS do you have? Is it a touch unit or Gen 1 or Gen 2 with the structurescan module?
If it is a touch unit, the structure scan module is built into the head unit. If it is NOT a touch unit you have the separate module and that must be powered in order for it to locate the source.
If you have a touch unit or non-touch (confirmed the structurescan module has power) and it doesn’t work, the cable is either not connected to the back of the unit, the cable itself is bad, or in your settings you do not have the right “source” selected.

Thank you for your reply, it is a non touch unit. The separate module your speaking of, where would it be located at? I just purchased this 21 foot Triton and the units were installed with the boat

You can get either the structurescan LSS-1 or LSS-2. The LSS-2 is a newer model. There should be a variety of used ones to find, but you may have trouble finding a new one. Also be sure that you have the proper transducer. Those models have 2 transducers. One will do your traditional 2D sonar, a long one will do the side and down imaging.

Thanks Capt I appreciate your help. I have the long transducer plus the one in the head of the xi5 trolling motor. I’ll do a search on the LLS-2

Cool. Just an install suggestion, when you do get the LSS module, when hooking it to a power source make sure that power source is a “switched” live power source. Otherwise it will always have power and could result in draining your battery.
