Does anyone have any experience with this unit not reading the chip or intermittently reading the chip? it seems like connection/contacts are not working? If I press really firm or stick something between the batteries and chip I can get the chip to pop up for a second and then it loses contact as soon I let off or loosen- I tried stuffing cardboard under the batteries but it does not seem to be enough. Is there a easy fix?

There should be 8 or so brass contact fingers that read info from the chip. Use a small pick or tweezers and lift (slightly bend) the brass contacts up so they make better contact. You may also check for tarnish or corrosion on these and the chip itself that MAY be part of the issue too.

That did not go well- pin towards the bottom seemed flat but pulled out when I tried to pry it up- hopefully Action can replace the pin or reseat it correctly.
    Thanks,
