    Hi I have a lowrance HDS 5 GEN 1… Can i have SS on it?

    yes buy a LSS 1 or 2 and hook it up!

    Gen 1 works with both Lss-1 and Lss-2? I was told differently but cant say it was from a good source. How about Gen 2?

    Gen 2 works with both the LSS-1 and the LSS-2. I know that one from experience.

    I just called tech support for Lowrance and they said an HDS Gen 1 will run either a LSS 1 or 2.

    The primary differences between the Gen 1’s and Gen 2’s are the Gen 2’s have a faster processor and they have the Structure Map feature. You can go here to learn more;
