I have an lcx110 and 25. My units I got (used) have the 2.1 version software. It won’t read in shallow water and learned that I needed to downgrade to the 1.7 or 1.6 software. Lowrance emailed me the software and I downloaded it (only one version on a card) on a 512mb sd card. I put the card in the unit…turned it on…and it looked like it updated. But when I went to check the software version it still says 2.1?? I’ve tried it several times and still the same thing? I can browse the files and see that the SD card has those files on it but they don’t downgrade the software? I’ve contacted Lowrance and have gotten no response from them as to what I’m doing wrong? And suggestions? Thanx!

You should be fine with the 2.1 version. I think it’s very
unusual to downgrade the software. Have you checked this?…
Press Menu once, arrow down to Sonar Features, press enter,
do you get an option that says Fishing Mode? If so, this
is where you select Shallow Water. Also, in this same window,
under Transducer Frequency, check the box that says 200 kHz.
I have the LCX-27c but your menu should be similar.
