    Greeting to all
My first post. Hoping I can contribute in the future.

I bought a new (older) ifinder Explorer online. Was thinking my Lakemaster v7 chip would work ok but not so. It work but only sporadically. Im thinking the software is too advanced for the the unit, Iv tried the resets to no avail. Frustrating when I turn it on and it does’t recognize the chip. Also if I could find a older version new or used for a fair price I may buy it. Any Ideas?…

    Thanks

I don’t know alot of about Lakemaster chips but I remember when I purchased my older Lowrance unit I also could not get it to work with my 2011 chip…I finally took it to Action electronics (Blaine??) and he had to upgrdae the software to get everything (including the gps) to work properly.

Not saying this is your problem but the version of software on you unit may be worth looking into to see if it is compatible with your chip and GPS puck system.
