Generation 1 hds 7 chip question

    Is there any older Lake Master chips that work in the generation 1 hds? Specifically would the LPMNC10 work?

    From my understanding, the 2010 and 2011 Lakemaster chips will work in the HDS units, whereas any older chips will not.

    The new Lowrance Insight HD chip is actually designed for the HDS units and is really a nice chip from what i’ve seen of it so far.

    Not sure of the numbers on my chip but I have one from 2008 that works just fine in my HDS Gen 1’s.

    Do you think all the gen-1 models (7,8,10) would have the same chip capacity?

    Try to find Lakemaster insight chips. They are the last made for Loawrance and have the 3D capability (not that important) but will work in your HDS units.

    Minnesota Insight 1.0
    Dakotas Insight 1.0
    LKPM-MN na older Minnesota chip
    Plus a few others that I know work in my HDS 10’s
    If the LPMNC10 is Lowrance, you should have no problem.

    Yes, I do beleive they all read the same chips but asking someone like Fish-lectronics wouldn’t hurt.

    I have a 2007 and a 2009 lakemaster and both work fine in my gen 1 HDS units.

    Yep they all work, I have several of the older versions and they all work fine in the Gen 1’s and then Gen2’s 7’s 8’s 10’s

    Thanks guys I got one of my 2009 chips working in there. No idea why it wasn’t working before but it looks like im good to go now.

    If the LPMNC10 is Lowrance, you should have no problem.

    What Version of Lowrance software are you using 4.0xxx or 4.1xxx? I have read on another forum that 4.1xx has a “glitch” which locks up the unit when reading certain Lakemaster chips (for example:Lake Master Pro LPWRc09 chip).
