HDS-5x linked to structure scan – what do I get

    So I have a empty Ethernet port on my LSS-1 that is begging to have something plugged into it. If I buy an HDS-5x and connect it to that what will I be able to see on the screen?

    I’m assuming sonar and SS options but will it give me the option to see the map and GPS points off my HDS7?

    I don’t believe you can see mapping functionality on a non-mapping unit. You can’t share maps between two mapping units, or see the display of one unit on a different one by networking. Connecting units together via ethernet doesn’t give you any functionality that the head unit doesn’t currently support to my knowledge. I could be wrong though.
