HDS 7 Duplicating waypoints

I noticed over the weekend that I had 3 and 4 copies of the same routes, trails and way points on my HDs 7. I manualy deleted all the duplicats, powered down and went to bed on Saturday. Sunday I wanted to export the same information and the dduplication was back! Any one have any idea what is going on? Need to call Lowrance but thought I would see if the IDO community has ever heard of this or seen this problem.

Sounds like your stuck on ground hog day there Art!

On the serious side, I never heard of that one before.

Menu 2x, system, advanced, and I think its in features(top) drop down menu. It says whether or not to allow duplicate names of waypoints. Hope this helps

I wish it was Ground Hog Day. I could say I had spent more than the meager 14 hours I have been out on the water this spring. That four leeter word WORK keeps getting in the way!

I found that setting skeeter and it at least makes it easier to find the duplicates, so far I still see the quantity of way points double everytime I power on the unit.

Bad time of the year to send a unit to Lowrance. Especially when I am finally getting some time to get out fishing.

Ok, here is what I would do. Do you have units networked? If so unplug the network cable on one unit. Go threw the waypoints and delete the doubles. Insert a SD card and save the waypoints to the card. Delete all waypoints from other graph (if you have one). Write down your sonar settings if you need to and do a hard reset on the unit(s).

Insert the SD card back into the graph and import. If you have a network plug in the cable and turn on the other graph. The waypoints will automatically transfer into it.

X2. I have three units networked together and was fighting the duplicate waypoint demon for a while. I ended up cleaning up one unit and then saving my data to an SD card. I then deleted all waypoints, trails, and routes on all three units. Reloaded the data to one unit and then let the other two sync up. I have been good since.

If you don’t have multiple units networked together, I have no idea what would cause that problem.

I do have multiple units networked together. Will give it a try.
