new lowrance map chip availability?

    Anyone know when the new Lowrance Insight HD 2012 map chips are going to be available? I’ve seen various dates thrown around but have yet to find what the actual expected date is.

    Talked to Doc Samson at the Bass expo and he said they were to be available in April but didn’t give me a new date…

    Cabelas.com is selling them, they are on backorder with an estimated ship date of 7 to 8 weeks. price is $149.99.

    Will the Lowrance chip be comparable to Lakemaster w/ 1′ contours? Or is it just a chip with the same maps that are already loaded on a unit with insight?

    they will have 1foot contours like lakemaster. i heard from a reliable source it will be the same lakemaster info that was sold to lowrance before lakemaster sold out to humminbird…
