HDS network ?

OK here’s what I have (or will have when the UPS guy shows up):
FRONT:
HDS5
Minnkota w/ universal sonar
Minnkota/lowrance adapter plug

REAR:
HDS7
Ethernet cord

What do I need to know to network the two?

You will need a power node to get power to 1 of the units.
You then would need an NMEA red connector cable to go from 1 to the other, you then just need to run the ethernet from the consel unit to the bow.

Now, if you do not plan on sharing any other date between the two, then you can just power each unit seperatly (avoiding the power node and necissary ‘T’) and still run the ethernet cable form back to front.

By doing this you will be able to select which sonar you want to use.
For instance, if your not using front trolling motor but want to see your skimmer transducer on front HDS 5 then you can select that sonar choice.

If you ever plan on an extrenal antenna, go ahead and power up the NMEA 200 network.

My $.02 is when $’s alLow it, add a LCG 4000. You wouldn’t be dissapointed. Hope this helps
