Lowrance Rebate

    Hello fellow IDO’ers I’m new to the site and I have a question regarding the rebates from Lowrance. If I were to purchase an HDS 7 Gen. 2 how much of a rebate would I recieve? Would that be the same price for all of the HDS units, unless I purchased the StructureScan along with the unit?

    As I read the rebate form, you must purchase the LSS-1 to get any rebate on the HDS7-Gen2. You don’t get as much if you buy the bundle.

    i hate how this rebate is worded and it’s so freaking hard2 figure out how2 get the BEST deal on your unit. i want2 buy a hds10 gen2 with structure scan…wish they would make it more english and less foreign

    I totally agree with you wies, I feel that I get lost when I’m trying to figure out how much of a rebate I can get on a unit. That’s the breaking point, I’m just looking for the best bang for my buck!

    Thanks SC, I actually found a form for the Gen. 1 HDS’s as well. If I have never used the HDS units, am I really going to notice that big of a difference if I purchase the Gen. 1 unit without StructureScan?

    the gen2 has a much faster processor for little2 no lag or anything like that. also it comes with structure map…but if your not going2 buy structure scan then there is not much of a difference

    Chris, not sure what your asking here. Difference between what?

    I can tell you that I run my HDS8 with the screen split with the chart, 2Dsonar and StructureScan. I absolutely love it! Well worth the $ IMHO.

    Sorry sc, I meant will I notice a major difference between the HDS Gen1 and Gen2 if I haven’t used an HDS unit before?

    The Gen 2 units are much faster with regards to map redraw and booting up. I have two gen 1 units and a gen 2 on my boat. Even without structure scan, I think the updates to processing speed make the gen 2 worthwhile over the gen 1.

    Don’t forget boot up time is 1/2 of the first generations.
