Today I was in Gander in Brainerd killing time and I noticed the HDS 8 had a option for Sirius radio. I ONLY would have a satellite radio I could listen to the MLB games on. So, could I get XM instead of Sirius?

I thought they were one in the same now? I thought they merged awhile back. My bill says “sirius/XM” on it……I use to have just XM, but now I have both. I get all MLB games.

You are correct Mr. Vick. The stock is all Sirius now.

Correct but, I don’t think they will sell me a NFL package for my XM account. I’m pretty sure my neighbor at the lake told me they couldn’t sell him the baseball package for his Sirius.

    Hence my question and confusion.

Don’t want a new account. I have had 2 radios on this account for 10 years now. I ain’t changin’

Like Steve and Brian both said it’s one in the same company. I don’t really know the reasoning behind their thinking.

It is SiriusXM now. The have two different lineups now. One for Sirius radios and one for XM radios. NFL is on Sirius and MLB is on XM.

I don’t think you can switch to XM if you have a Sirius receiver.

No, I have a radio already that I use in the boat that I get XM on. This was just something I saw on the Lowrance HDS8. Had I been able to get XM I would have eliminated the portable radio I use. I won’t be getting that option on the HDS8 is all.

I got XM lifetime membership years ago. I have XMP3 player docked in my house. I get all baseball and all football games.(home and away coverage for every game) If you don’t get full sports on the unit you got, thats not right. my unit updated itself about a year ago… new channels… many new channels online…
The HDS sat radio/ weather option is pricey… 299 +about 12$ month… Almost got drunk and pulled the trigger but common sense and empty cooler said nope…
