I am in the process of wiring up a LSS-1 to my HDS-8 does the wires need to be hooked up like this?

    Black connected to Green
    Yellow connected to yellow
    Red connected to Orange
and tape up the Blue Wires?

    Thanks.

I understand the part about the YELLOW wires but what do I do with the other wires from the LSS-1 and the HDS. I know the 3 wires on the separate lead on the HDS will connect to the POWER source. Do I connect the left over wires from the LSS-1 to the left over wires on the HDS unit?

after looking at the install manual I think your question is on the 2nd set of wires they are not used at this time insulate and tape off the set of wires (yel tx,blu tx,or rx,gre rx,shield)you just hook up red to pos, black to neg, yellow hook together LSS1 HDS8 ,blu on LSS1 tape off.
I have my power for the HDS ran thru the power switch so it’s off when I turn off my boat power the LSS1 turns on and off thru the yellow wire from HDS. I hope this helps or call me I pmed you my number

bassn7 has it right. On the LSS-1 power cord place a fuse on the red wire and connect this to a positive power lead, connect the black wire to the ground, connect the yellow to the yellow in the power cord from the HDS unit. Tape up the rest, none of them are used at this time.
