Odd Lowrance ducer issue

I have a 520 I use for GPS and a X-20 as my graph. After about 2-3 hours, sometimes more, my x20 will lose bottom.

Sounds like the old, bad Lowrance ducer issue righ? Well, it gets odd…

I have put a pattern togther. Once my x20 starts loses bottom I have to unplug the ducer for atleast 3 seconds and it will work for the next 6 minutes, then unplug for 3 seconds and it works for 6 minutes. Very odd.

I have ran the ducer hooked to my 520 and have NO problems.

Anyone have any insight? I’m sure I will end up trying a new ducer, would a soft reset work? Anyone have the program code for that?

    Thanks, Mark

    Hi Mark,

It wouldn’t hurt to try the soft reset. If the xducer works
with the 520 it must be something with your LCX-20.

    Hope it works!

Soft Reset (Does not delete GPS Data)

    LCX 20C Reset

    1. Turn unit OFF
    2. Press and hold the PAGES key
    3. Press and hold the PWR key
    4. Release both buttons when the USA map
    appears

I have to assume that you have an LCX-20, not an X-20, since the transducers are interchangeable with your 520.

What software is in the LCX-20?

The latest version can be found here: http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/Marine/Large-Screen-SonarGPS-Chartplotter-Combos/LCX-20C/Downloads/LCX-20C-Software-Update/

I doubt it is the transducer since it seems to work on the 520. I would start with the software and see where it goes.
