I would recommend just wiping it down with camera lens cloth. It is the same material that comes with LCD tv’s and such. I am a nature photo guy and use it on expensive lenses and my own humminbird unit. Gets rid of fingerprints and such with NO SCRATCHES!!! It almost feels like silk if this helps any?
exactly what shawn said!! spray bottle with vinegar water solution will clean any hard water spots on the screen! making it viewable again in that nasty sun glare…
I purchased two small spray bottles of lens cleaner at wally world and emptied one and refilled with 1/2 vinegar 1/2 water. I use the vinegar mix first and then use the lens cleaner utilizing the Lowrance cloth that comes with the HDS units.
I found a product that is a Commputer/LCD screen cleaner (I know I recently saw this at Menards). Use to use 1/2 vinagar & water until I used this. Unbelievable results. I know it’s a blue solution in a spray bottle and comes with it’s own cloth. Don’t think anyone would be dissapointed. MY $.02
Windex works just fine, and according to Lowrance, does not harm the screen at all. vinegar and water works good as well. A towel dunked in the lake, followed by a dry towel works in a pinch.
