Satellite issue?

Please offer your advice: I run a HDS 5 unit, 2009, and it mostly works fine. But, I do find that where ever I go, and switch the screen to the map, that the default starting point is not where my boat is. The map page always starts at the lower lake on Minnetonka. So, if I’m on Mille Lacs I need to arrow around until I find Mille Lacs, and then sure enough the black triangle is in the right spot. So the unit knows where the boat is, but the default home page for the map doesnt start where the boat is (which is what I want it to do). How do I change this? Thanks!

I don’t think its a satellite issue, it appears to be and auto update issue. I am not 100% on the HDS units as I don’t run one, but I think you could always hit EXIT button once GPS locks in to bring you to your current location vs. scrolling to mille lacs lake.

When turning on the unit it defaults to the last place you locked in at, it then should auto update to your current position, I would imagine somewhere in the settings there is an option for this…sorry could not help, but the EXIT button should help vs. you having to scroll.

The “exit” trick worked, thanks for tip. I’ll work on the auto update possibility next.
