ok, i have a LCX 17M that did have a LGC 2000 antenna. after searching on the internet and checking the 12V supply for network was ok i purchased a new LGC 4000 but i am still getting the error message.

i have updated to the latest 1.8 software

i have tried a soft and hard reset

i have even spoken to about 3 guys over the phone at lowrance.

firstly, i have made up my own blue-black network adapter to allow the new antenna to connect to my old blue plugs. would this be a problem? yes i did it all 100% and i connected red to red, black to black etc and the screens also. (i’m a sparky by trade)

secondly, does anyone have any ideas to help me out? i’m desperate now and i really need this working by the weekend if possible.

    thanks guys

My 520c does not respond sometimes and , what I do is unplug the gps puck with the unit off and reconnect it will work again after doing that. I do not know why it works but it does.

From Jeff Bennett Hope this helps.

I think your problem is the 4000 antenna that antenna is not compatable with the x17. I think you’ll have to go with another 2000 antenna to run it.

I would try a Lowrance adapter cable.

Make sure the update is listed on the 17.

The 4000 will work with the 17. Make sure you have network
    (antenna) power.

    Check the inline fuses.

If the 17 had blue nema 2000 connector, the LGC 4000 should work. Agree with Dandorn, you need a lowrance red to blue connector and need to make sure your nema 2000 networked is powered. This should be through you power cable to until. Both reds, blacks, and yellow need to be hooked up.
As already mentioned, also check your in line fuses.
    Good luck

I just solved a friend’s problem this weekend with the dreaded “GPS Module Not Responding” message. A “resistor” that terminated the network had fallen off (wasn’t pushed in and turned/locked in) thus the antenna/reciever wasn’t functioning properly.

Check your network and ensure that it is terminated properly.

    Good Luck!

Let us know what solves the problem….Thanks!

thanks for the quick response guys, well i didn’t get a chance to have a look at it today as i went for a quick run out the dam in it and had alot of fun with a school of bass. 19 of them in fact…

i have checked the 12V supply to the antenna, i have checked all plug connectors, i have checked the inline fuses them selves, but i will check there is no voltage drop accross them. i’ll try disconnecting and reconnecting with the unit on, and i’ll ty and find a genuine lowrance adaptor.
