Transducer question

    MY 37C has been acting up a little as of late. The transducer will not read at times and will only show 1.8′ depth. It has been only doing this every once in a while until last night. Now it just reads 1.8 all of the time. I played with the settings on found out that if I change the first frequency to 50 from 200. It will read depth and show bottom in just dark blues. I assume i need a new transducer. Do you agree? I am pretty sure I replaced this one last summer some time. Is this a common problem?

    Sounds like a bad transducer. I would stick with the less expensive 200 khz unless you fish the great lakes.

    Our winters are hard on transducers due to water intrusion
    and freezing.

    Carry a spare………………………..
