Networking HDS7 with HDS5 with ethernet

I have a HDS7 on the console and a HDS5 on the bow and I now have them networked with the yellow ethernet cable. I would like to get these 2 units set up so that they share waypoints and that is it. It seems like they are sharing other sonar info that I don’t want. I want the depth and water temp to display for each individual unit not sharing from one unit to the other. I am always seeming to loose water temp when I turn both units on or turn a unit off and then back on. I have been playing around with it try to troubleshoot with not much luck. I saw the Sonar Network OFF option under the Sonar menu that I clicked off because I assumed this might be what I want with not sharing sonar (depth/temp) info from one unit to the next. It seems like that might have worked but now it looks like it is not sharing waypoints. Any ideas?

Are you positive the waypoints are no longer being shared
with the Network Sonar turned off.

I lose water temp at the console after using the bow unit
when both have the Network Sonar on.

I just go into the Network menu then under Data Sources I
go into Sonar/Water Temp and check the HDS-10 at the console.

I have noticed that if you have HDS units networked via an ethernet cable and make a change on one unit, it makes the change on the other unit too.

You need to go to Data Sources and choose water temp for example and hit menu and change the Scope to local to make the unit use it’s own devices.
