Upgrading to HDS 7 and Structure Scan Question

I am finally upgrading from an eagle fish elete 500c to a lowrance HDS7 and Structure scan and I have a couple of questions. I do not know of anybody local to ask and I couldn’t find answers in the manuals so I will try here. I will probably have more questions after I get everything installed.

    1. The structure scan transducer is different than I thought. I have an Alumacraft 195 tournament pro V. If I mount it within 1 foot of the HDS transducer on the transom, will either my big motor or kicker motor (to the left of the transducer) interfere with the side scan to that side of the boat?

    2. Is it possible to transfer waypoints and trails from the eagle 500c to the HDS7 and if so how? I leave to Canada in 9 days and would like to avoid all the rocks that I have previously located.

    Thanks for any help.

1rst anything that blocks a side view will upset the side scan 2nd if you can down load to a chip w the eagle I think you can put the info in your HDS7 my lms520c did. if you have questions just call me Stan

Where should he put the transducer on his alluman [Tin] I can’t spell either]boat to clear the motors? I’m a glass boat guy so I didn’t help much!

Here is how mine is. I was worried about it as well……don’t notice out of the ordinary on the left side….can still pick up items plus I never have my trim all the way down so maybe that helps.

You will most likely notice some loss of signal from the big motor when it’s trimmed down. I don’t use my side scan when running on plane anyway, so when I am just slowly moving along looking at stuff or trolling with my kicker, I just trim the motor up a ways so it is out of the way.

On an aluminum boat, I don’t think you can mount the LSS-1 transducer anywhere that you won’t have that problem.

As far as transferring the Waypoints the process is the same as for most Lowrance/Eagle units of this age. Once the data is on the card insert it into the HDS and import it from the Files menu.
