4.0 update without GPS

    I have a HDS 5 without GPS and no card slot. How do I load the update? Is it needed?

    You need to do it through another HDS unit that has the card slot. The directions to do it are on Lowrance’s website.

    I don’t have another HDS unit or the E cable that is needed. Is there a dealer that can perform this in the east metro or anyone on here that can do it?

    It is really kind of a pain in the butt. I have a buddy that has an HDS 7 that I update with. I would highly recommend doing the update if you can find someone.

    Go to your local dealer and they should be able to help update an HDS 5x. They will have the needed items.
