Did I do something wrong?

    Try’d updating my HD-7 from 3.0 to 3.5 version. Loaded it off the net and into the unit and now the unit is acting peculiar. No letters on the interface, its just messed up. Any suggestions?

    I updated my 7 and 8 about 4 weeks ago with no issues. I don’t understand what you mean by ‘no letters on the interface’.

    There are no numbers or letters on any interface when you run the unit

    Do you mean read outs such as depth etc…..? I have never done an update on Lowrance yet but maybe it went back to default when updating, have you tried to go into the set up and install them again?

    Reading back over the intial install it asked for an empty disk. I have other updates on this disk so I will delete them all off, reload and try again. This unit is brand new, I exchanged my old one when I had problems with it last fall.

    I don’t understand what you mean by “no letters on the interface”. If you are talking the overlay data that was on the different screens before you updated the unit, this is normal that after the update you will need to re-install the overlay data that you wish to have on each screen.

    I will have to contact Lowrance tomorrow, hopefully it is correctable without having to send it in, Thanks for the help.

    1. I was not loading the card correctly
    2. The card was not uploading the 4.0 rev. Had to try a different card.

    Thanks for the help. My HDS7 now is running in 4.0

    You will like the 3 pane on the structure scan. I was out yesterday and it is great to have the full screen width on the side scan and still be able to have other panes as well.
