I won a Lowrance HDS5X fishfinder & I would like to use my old Lowrance x65 at the front of the boat;but was wondering if there is a way to mount the tranducers so the units dont interfear with each other.I don’t have a bow mounted trolling motor.
Well no matter what your going to get some interference at some point (depth) you can minimize it by changing some setting, like ping rate. I actually used an Ice transducer for some time with my lowrance up front until I got my terrova with the US, and it actually works great upto a point with current, I used it on the river in Red Wing with good results. Imho the best way to use it short of putting it on your TM. I actually keep my ice ducer in the boat now as a spare just in case.
I should also note that I purchased the ice ducer to use my lowrance in winter for ice fishing and quickly abandoned the idea after trying to actually use it on the ice, totally worthless in my opinion…. I’ll stick to my LX3….
