Anyone using Lakemaster Insight HD for Lowrance

I feel maybe it’s just been too long of a winter. Got boat out of heated storage yesterday (finally) and brought 1 of the HDS 10’s inside to do a refresher course before actually on water.

My question hear today is, I just received new LM Insight HD for MN. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get to 3D pages. 2D & shaded is no problem, but can’t get it to come up 3D. Making me feel kinda not-so-smart this morning.
    Thanks in advance

While on the chart screen press menu twice and on the top of the menu it says chart data.

From what I know I think you have to have the new 3.5 software for the insight chip to work. BUT I also just found out that once you zoom in closer then I think it was 5 miles the 3-D disappears. We bought one but are thinking about taking it back! Lowrance says its Lakemaster and Lakemaster says its Lowrance…go figure. So as of right now basically once zoomed in to normal distances its no better then the 2-D chip.

I’ll be calling Lakemaster to discuss this with them.
They asked when ordering what model and what software to make sure it was compatible.Let you know what I find out
    Thanks Skeeter20

Yeah no problem. Lowrance must not have really tested the chip in the unit. When we were at Reed’s we popped one in and sure enough no 3-D. Probably going to hang on to the chip for a while to see if they come out with an update?

Mike, HDS 10s have softkeys (shortcut keys)along the bottom. If you’ve installed the most recent software update, the right hand key will change from 2D to 3D, with or without contours at the push of a button. The 3D starts to get blurry at about 3,000ft image size and disappears at about 1,100 feet image size. I think Shaded Relief is best used as a prefishing tool. Turn of contour lines and zoom out until the image looks sharpest. Then study the lake bottom, marking what is interesting to you. Go back to 2D with contours and check depths on what you marked.

    Thanks Moccasinboy & Skeeter20
I spoke with Lakemaster yesterday. The shaded imagery is supposably the 3D. Not really what I was expecting, but still a great chip in 2D and in shaded.
There should be version 4.0 out anytime (was told within a week from relaible source). Be intersting to see if there’s anyhting pertaining to this issue.
