Lowrance Transducer

Have a new Lowrance Kook2 HDI with NAV bundle, I have a pontoon boat and have my transducer mounted where my old one was mounted at the back of the left pontoon around 3.5 feet from my motor.

Every time I go over say 8 MPH my screen gets full of thin back lines. Know in the instructions it states mount on the right side for clockwise prop movement as I have. But I have it where my 10 year old Lowrance was mounted with no issues for 10 years.

So before I take my boat to the welding shop to have them weld a mounting bracket to the back of the right pontoon do you think if I do so it will stop all the graft noise when I go over 8 MPH?

I have a hook 7 mounted on my boat on the Left side of the prop, I’m not getting any lines. The lines you’re seeing are they vertical or horizontal?

They are horizontal bottom of screen to top covers the entire screen.

Have you tried to change sensitivity, or select a different transducer cone?

I’m not a lowrance guy, but if your previous lowrance worked without cavitation interference then it shouldn’t be what is causing this.

Could it be electrical interference caused from the motor battery charging system that is kicking out more amps the higher the rpm?

    Just tossing it out there

Can test by hooking your hook power to a different battery, like a little vex batt.

I changed the sensitivity but when on high maybe get 1 more MPH before the lines appear. I mounted it on the right side of the pontoon and underneath still get the lines.

Have to figure it out or it is worthless to me.

I had a small nick in my prop so put my spare on will try it Monday and see what happens do not think that will make any difference.

OK figured out what is going on as long as I stay in 40 feet or less of water my sonar screen stays as it should no matter what speed I go . BUT when I start going over 40 feet deep and above 8 MPH the lines start and at 50 feet deep entire screen is almost black with lines top to bottom of my screen. When I get into water under 40 feet or do just 8 MPH the screen clears up.

Anyone have any ideas changing the sensitivity and scroll speed makes no difference?
